IT'S ALIVE! TESTING THE BIKE GENERATOR

Ecotonos is hard at work building and testing 3D printed prototypes of 'spools' to generate power for tool-less bike lights and a recharging hub (what's that, you ask? Stay tuned for details as we unravel our design at Ottawa Maker Faire later this month). So far, we got it working and took turns riding around a flower garden late at night, scaring our Ottawa South neighbours with our exclamations of joy.

Next up on the list: finalizing our biological models to design a bike generator that tells a story inspired by nature!

Testing of the working model: success! So far, the spool was able to handle 9km without interruptions and mechanical failures.
